Sappy moments.

While I was trying to feed jake lunch yesterday I had the opportunity to just stare at my son- his big blue eyes, his perfect nose...his blonde, wavy hair. Perfection.
As he threw his chicken nuggets and spit out his milk I just giggled(inside). "No no" I said. He relies, "no no!"
Although stubborn, Jake brings me so much joy. His giggles warm my heart so much. Going into his room every morning seeing that big smile...completes me.

I love the fact that nap and sleep time are not (usually) a struggle. I ask him if he's ready to go nigh night and he collects his binky and blanket, gives Joel a kiss and comes to me knowing he's going to bed. With his head on my shoulder, we say our prayers while walking up the stairs and I speak his blessing over him. This is my favorite part of my day.

When I had a miscarriage in December, Jake comforted me and didn't even know it. I hugged that boy more than normal, and he got me through that hard time.

Seeing him grow has been so fun and I can't wait to watch him go to kindergarten and on fishing trips with his dad...having his first crush, helping him buy a corsage for his date... all the fun boy stuff!

I love my boy and will never take him and the time God has given me for granted.

Why, hello there!

SUMMER VACAY....you are FINALLY here! Yippee Skipee!

I'm not gonna lie, It was a little bittersweet leaving my school, knowing that next September is still a mystery and who knows where I'll end up. It was so nice being at the same place for 9 months, knowing where I'll go every morning, making great connections with people, and learning a lot! Oh well, life goes on!

Anywayyyyy...

Joel took me on a get-a-way to Lake Tahoe for our 5 year wedding anniversary! SO FUN! It is GORGEOUS down there. The weather was perfect...the gambling, well, could have been better..but overall, we had FUN!
Lots of drinking went on...I mean how can you resist a cocktail when everywhere you turn there is a lady in a short skirt saying, "Cocktails, coffee?" ;)

I ate pancakes...twice! Mmmm I had been craving pancakes since before weight watchers and never gave in...until now! DELISH

There's the BLING Joel surprised me with!! He is so romantic and thoughtful. I was super surprised and happy!

Last is where my tush was sitting most of the time. Video blackjack! This is the first time I had seen or played on this machine. It was pretty cool. A new dealer (usually wearing as little clothes as possible) would come on. This particular dealer would say "Lets have some fun" or my favorite "Dealer BUSTS"  ;)

The diet:
That's right, peeps, I finally hit the 5 mile mark!!! Wahooo!!! I love reaching my goals! Kristin decided that after our run we needed to reward ourselves with a margarita- so we did!

I'm going to be doing a kickboxing (watch out!!!) class at my church on Mondays...plus running! Now I just need to get my eating habits back up to par, then Ill be set! Its going to be hard, especially since I'll be at home all day or on vacations! Ill keep u all posted!

Jake:
I'm so soooooo glad school is done because this means I get to spend more time with the Jakster!
We had his 18 month check up and he is doing great! He took his shots like a champ and is growing like a weed!
I caught the CUTEST video of him dancing in the car! The poor kid gets to listen to all the music I do and is SO cute while doing so!

Rants and Raves:

Rave: Take me out- with George Lopez
I was bored and saw this new show on Fox. I decided to record it and watch it later, hoping it would be a good one! IT was!! At first, I thought it was kinda trashy and cheesy....and it is....lol but it was still entertaining!

So here's what happens: There are like 26ish girls waiting to see a bachelor. Each girl is standing with their light on. Once the guy comes out, if they arent attracted to him, they turn their light off. Then, they watch a short video about him. More lights go off...if there are any lights on at the end of round 3, the bachelor gets to pick what girl he wants. Its fun!!!!!!! You should watch it!

Rave: The Choice- Fox
Okay, so this show is on right after Take me out. The same thing applies as above. I saw that it was a new show and it had to do with dating so I recorded it.

Its set up similar to the Voice. There are 4 celebrity bachelors with their chair turned. Different girls come out and have to convince the bachelors to turn around. Each bachelor gets to pick 3 girls, then narrows it down to one girl to go out on a date with! Its kinda fun and the girls are CRAZY!

Rant and Rave: Costco Eye Center-Lakewood
Hoooray!!! This isn't a COMPLETE rant or rave yet (and lets hope its not a complete rant in the weeks to come!) I went and had an eye exam and I noticed that a prescription for glasses was 50 bucks and contacts were 90. Cool, however I wanted both. I figured since I was already getting the more expensive exam, that the prescription for glasses would be added in. Wrong. Nothing is for free, my friends. Oh well, it had to be done and they didn't charge me the FULL price for both..it was about 120.

They ordered me 2 trial pair of contacts and gave me a paper for glasses. The ladies out in the frame section were SO helpful and so friendly. I asked them about plastic vs. wire and about Zennioptical and any other questions I had. I then narrowed my search to 3 frames I liked, which I then tried on for the girls and they helped me narrow it own. Wahoo!
Here is a fabulous interesting pictures of the ones I chose.

Hope you all have a great weekend...and be looking for Music Mondays hopefully happening right here starting soon!! :)

Saturday Morning Coffee Date

Happy Saturday!!

It soooooo feels like Sunday to me, because (be jealous) I had Friday off! Wahoo! I'm even more excited that I have Monday off too! (shout out to the Vets- Thank you!)

Between my sisters wedding (June 2nd), our 5 year wedding anni, and the ending of school, things are going to be crazy in the next couple of weeks!!! A fun crazy though.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves though. I'm trying to always be"In the moment" and not get anxious about things to come! Soooooooooo.....4 day weekends are thee BEST!

Spending it with this little cutie pie is even better:
See how he is dressed? Yeah, it was kind of chilly yesterday. Like normal, he wanted to be outside with daddy. Joel was washing the car and since we let Jake get wet last time, he assumed he could splash around this time! BRRR. He was in heaven washing the car with his daddy!

I swear every morning when I go and get him from his crib, he looks BIGGER! Where the heck did my little baby go?

Not gonna lie, "It won't be like this for long" came on my iphone...and I nearly teared up looking at J in my review mirror. (sigh).

Rants and Raves:

Rave: Greg Bates's new song "Did it for the girl"  (Click here to see it!)
Oh the things we do for the people we love, right? I really am diggin his voice too, especially in the acoustic version. It shows he can REALLY sing and REALLY play the guitar.

Rave: We all know that I was supposed to be born in Texas, or even some little, mid-west little town. However, I'm here in cali...but my heart is in the country! I love the show, Texas Women, on CMT. The girls on this show always look so, dang, cute! Big hair, big bling, big jewelry. Well, I found the website to where they get their bling! Such a cute website. I haven't ordered yet, but I'm definitely going too! Not a huge fan of their blinged-out sandals, but the jewelry is super cute! Check it out! When I buy something, I'll definitely review it!   http://www.gypsysoule.com

Rave: New Balance Running Shoes
I got some new running shoes and I love them ! They are so comfortable, supportive, light and super cute, too!

Rave: What to Expect when Expecting- We saw this movie last night and I thought it was super cute.I could totally relate to all the different situations in the movie! I enjoyed it and laughed a lot! I would definitely recommend it!

Have a GREAT 3 day weekend!

Family day!!

Today was such a fun day! I went shopping with my mom while jake took his morning nap, then Joel and decided to have a "family" afternoon!

We grabbed lunch then hit up Toys R Us! Jakes eyes were HUGE as we browsed the isles.
We got a pool and a bike helmet for jake (for our late afternoon activity).
Here is Jake trying it on. Love this smirk.

We got home, loaded up with sunscreen...and hit the kiddy pool! Jake had a blast! He loved splashing around (which he thought he could continue when taking a bath tonight!!!)

After his afternoon nap we hooked up our bike trailer for the first time. Jake LOVED it! He didn't even mind keeping his helmet on! He kept signing "more" hehe

I loved today! God has truly blessed me with a great hubby and son!!

But we can praise the LORD
both now and forever!
Praise the LORD! (Psalm 115:18 NLT)

Saturday Morning Cofee Dates

Good Morning!!!!

17 days AND COUNTING until SUMMER break! Wahoo!

I cannot wait to spend all day with Jake taking trips to the park, play dates, lunch dates all sorts dates and fun times ahead!

Speaking of Jake...

His hair is getting SO blonde, just like Daddy's! I love it! I always wanted a toe-head...and now I'm getting my wish!

He loves being silly and "break" dancing around the living room. No seriously, I need to take a video of it, because its HIL-AR-IOUS!

He also got me the PLATNIUM Keurig for Mothers day! He knows me too well ;)

Here is a few pics of him and his ball (that he LOVES throwing in the street and think its funny when I run after it to try and save it from cars!)

How cute is he with his little hat on??

The Diet:
I weighed last week and I was up 2lbs from 3 weeks ago (stagecoach). However, I'm OK with that. I mean, I ate, drank, and partied it up.. and the past two weeks...I've been half-a$$ing my diet..so that is my bad! I weighed this week and I was down .5. Eh.

I'm trying not to rely so much on the scale because I still feel good with where I'm at.

I did, however, reach a new running goal....4.43 miles! ALMOST 4.5! Wahoo! I'm planning on buying some new running shoes too! (sidebar: I never thought I'd be excited about buying new RUNNING shoes!)

Music:
I've got 4 "new" tunes I'd love to share. They may be old to you, but for some reason I just can't get enough of them! (2 of them are not COUNTRY (gasp!))

First:David Guetta ft. Usher- Without you  (see it here)
First, I didn't know this was Usher. I love this song. Love how it starts out slow..then moves into an upbeat dance rhythm. Def. makes me want to dance all crazy in the living room. Thanks David!

Second: David Guetta Ft. Sia- Titanium (see it here)
Okay, I just goggled this song and found out it was Davide Guetta AGAIN! This guy has the jams, man!! Love this song, too. So catchy, especially the chorus! I totally am one of those girls who you see driving down the street dancing in the car. Yep. That's me!

Third: Dustin Lynch: Cowboys and Angels (see it here)
This song is legit. Its a nice slow, but catchy. His nice, smooth voice flows so perfectly. I also LOVE the lyrics. A very cute song!

Last: Andy Gibson- You make me wanna make you love me (see it here)
Not gonna lie, when I first hear it, I was like, "This song is so cheesy...who shines their shoes?"
However, the more I listen...I really like it. So plain and simple. Plus I love singing along with it!

Rants & Raves:

1. Rave: Nicholas Sparks- The Best of Me
I never gave Nicholas a chance when reading his book, but I LOVE his movies!  I downloaded the Nook App and logged into my Aunts account and have been reading her books (tee hee). I started this one and am hooked!

2. Rant: I'm so sad all my TV shows are coming to an end!! What shows are you looking forward to this summer? Mine? I'm glad you asked...
