Okay, I guess you would say I had my 2nd emotional time so far in this pregnancy.
I heard the song "You're gonna miss this" by Trace Adkins...and I completely lost it. Not just a tear here..a tear there...no. I was bawling. Then, to make matters worse, I watched the video. I especially fell apart during the part where the daughter got married and moved into their first place..and as they were fixing it up..she was already talking about buying a house and having babies. The dad said "You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back. You're gonna wish these days haven't gone by so fast. These are some good times, so take a good look around. You may not know it now, but you're gonna miss this."
I don't know why I'm so affected by this song. I am SO freaking excited for this baby and have wanted it so badly, but maybe I'm just scared that my life is going to be totally different. I mean, obviously I know it will be and it will be hard and great at the same time, but I've had some great times these past 3 years with just Joel and I.
I guess its just made me realize how much I appreciate Joel..and how in these next 5 months I need to make the most out of our time alone, and look forward to this new journey in my life.
I guess we take life for granted. We need to cherish it...whatever stage we are in. It goes by too quickly...and once it passes...its gone.
I hope I'm not giving anyone the wrong impression. I am OVER THE MOON excited. I guess as a future first-time-mom I am allowed to feel overwhelmed, anxious, nervous..you get the picture.
Tell me I'm not alone. Anyone else felt like this?
So..it came to my attention today that pretty much NONE of my pants fit. I literally think I tried on every pair in my closet. It was really depressing.
Now, you may be thinking "Come on, Jenalee, you're pregnant, its OK!" Well, yes thank you, I know I'm pregnant but I thought my old clothes would hold up a little longer then then have. I've been rocking the "Rubber Band" trick for a few weeks and not, its not even comfortable anymore. Don't get me wrong, I am sooooo thrilled that I'm having this problem..just peeved...keep reading.
So, after coming to the realization that I'm going to have to budge and get some more bottoms I start browsing maternity stores online. Um. Holy cow. These prices are RIDIC! (short for ridiculous if you don't speak Jenalee-ha). I'm going to have to get a whole new wardrobe for 5 more months. Now, its not like I can just go into the store and pick out the jeans I want...of course not, that would be WAY to easy. No, I have to get petite jeans. AND to make matters worse, most places only have petite online. blah blah blah.
Ok vent done :)

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I am pretty much bored at home everyday...cleaning..watching a lifetime movie..or eating. ha!
This week, the baby is the size of a clenched fist. WOW! Yes, every hour or so you will find me staring at my clenched fist in amazement. I think that is soo cool.
How far along?: 14 weeks 5 days How big is baby?: 3.5 inches and 1.5oz...the size of a Lemon!! hmm I love lemons! Weight gain?: Haven't weighed and am not going to until my doctors appointment...dun dun dunnnn! Stretch Marks?: Nope, I'm starting to rub that coco butter all over. We'll see if that helps! Maternity Clothes?: I must say...I caved and bought some maternity jean capris..which are the most comfortable capris ever! Sleep?: Wonderfully, thanks to my body pillow! Soon I wont be able to lay on my back, which is definitely be a problem. Best moment this week?: Fathers day for Joel <3>Food Cravings?: Well..this week it is still green Apples and Jack in the box tacos, however, I'll throw zesty dill pickles and watermelon in the mix ( note: not eaten at the same time! lol) Gender?: Still not sure..getting SO anxious. I think its a little joelb, though!! Movement?: Can't feel a thing, but the books say its going crazy in my belly! Belly Button?: still there... What I miss?: Comfortably sleeping on my stomach. Labor Signs?: not for another 6 months or so! What I'm looking forward to?: Seeing who he/she looks like! Milestone?: Swallowing my pride and wearing those maternity jeans!
So some of my friends said I needed to update my blog about any pregnancy happenings. Soooo here I go! :)
How far along?: 13 weeks 5 days How big is baby?: 3 inches...the size of a peach!! Weight gain?: 4 pounds! not to shabby! Stretch Marks?: Not yet...sigh...I am not looking forward to that part! Maternity Clothes?: As much as I want to wear them (because they are SO COMFY!), I will feel stupid, so I'll wait a few more weeks. The rubber band trick is doing wonders for me right now! Sleep?: Sleeping pretty good, except for the 2-3 times waking up to pee. Best moment this week?: Church on Sunday Food Cravings?: yum!! Green Apples and Jack in the box tacos! Gender?: We don't know yet. I'm pretty sure it's a boy! Movement?: Nope, no movement yet..I can't WAIT for that to happen! Belly Button?: Still looks normal! What I miss?: DIET COKE. I have one every so often, but anyone who knows me, knows that I was a diet coke fanatic. Labor Signs?: Nope, that would be pretty awful at this stage in the pregnancy! What I'm looking forward to?: Feeling the baby move and finding out the sex (even though I KNOW its a boy!) Milestone?: My belly is actually starting to look round, instead of just fat! woo!
My blog has been slacking lately because I have had nothing exciting to post about...well now I do!! I'm Pregnant!! Yes, its true! Hooray! :) You guys don't know HOW long (well..12 weeks) I've waited to say that! It has been SO hard keeping this secret in! We are BEYOND thrilled! It took us a while, so when I got 2 pink lines, I was going crazy!
I found out at about 5 weeks or so. I took 3 tests (Because the first two weren't right...right??) I went to my OBGYN the next day and it was confirmed. We saw a little sac a little speck of baby on the ultrasound. I was feeling great until I hit 6 weeks. From then on..I felt nauseous pretty much every day, but never got sick. I've been feeling sick up until a couple of days ago. Now and again I feel a little nauseous, but nothing like the past couple of weeks! Also, I have been super tired. I've always gone to bed kinda early...but the past few weeks its been like 8:30 and I'm out for the night!! I've noticed the past few days I've had more energy...welcome 2nd trimester!! Joel and I both decided that we were going to wait until 12 weeks to share the news. We told our immediate families on Mothers day (hot fitting, right?? hehe) My parents were SO excited..and Joel's parents were even MORE excited because this will be their FIRST grandbaby! :) With both of our extended families, if the word got out, the whole world would know. It was soo hard keeping it in!!! We had an 8 week ultrasound where we saw the heartbeat and saw our little peanut on the screen.(picture above!) Then, at our 12 week appointment, we heard the beautiful sound of a strong, healthy heartbeat! Praise God.
It has been SO fun reading all the "How big is your baby this week" stuff. It seriously is amazing how something so small can change your emotions, make you sick, and grow in a belly! I love it! Above is a picture of how I shared the great news with Joel's family. I wore this shirt with a sweater over..and let the fun begin!!! It was so fun! Of course, Aunt Nancy noticed it first. ;)
I guess that is all for now! I cannot wait to update everyone on how this process is going!!
