Family Day!!

We had a great Sunday! We decided to take Jake and Grandma Lorna to Knotts Berry Farm! We got both grandmas passes for Mothers day, so it was fun to see Lorna use it!

Going to Knotts on Sunday is ideal because it's soo empty and hardly any lines!

Jake went on 7 rides and Joel and I went I the new swing ride! It was crazzzzy high but fun!

Saturday Morning Coffee Dates

Good Morning!

Wow, we haven't had a coffee date in a while huh?

That's okay, because not much has happened. Lets start our date :)

Randoms:

Joel and I had the opportunity to play a part in my brother-in-laws engagement!! We hiked up to the whittier hills, set up a blanket and flowers and took pics of the whole shebang! It was such fun time and I am so excited for the happy couple!! :)

We went camping this past weekend to my alltimefavorite camping spot (which happens to be 8 hours away, but oh so worth it!) Here is one of my favorite pics of Jake!

The Diet:

I'm back on the wagon. I gained ten thousand pounds since Stagecoach (in April). Ten. :( I would love to say that I've been feeling great eating whatever the heck I wanted to, but really...I've felt blah. Like I've said before, Id rather feel a starving hungry and happy, then eat whatever I want and feel like a beached whale.

Soooooo, I've made some goals to work out 3x a week and eat right. I'm still running, but am only doing 3 miles per time and build some speed before I increase.

I'm down 2 pounds since Monday! Hooray!

It feels great to be back on track!

Jake:

This kid brings me so. much. joy. :) I don't know what I'm going to do when I go back subbing!
I posted a video of him yesterday jabbering away. We are working on him saying 2 word sentences. Working is the key word in that sentence!


(p.s. Do you see my awful wrinkles?? Darn Mary Kay Timewise cream, apparently, has not been working. I'm getting OLD!!!!!!!!)

Music:
I wish I would write about MY music under this title...but there is nothing to report. I really, really, REALLY miss singing and writing. Maybe some day there will be some original stuff on here.

Lee Brice- Hard 2 Love

Okay, this Cd is pretty much amazing. I bought it a few weeks ago for 2.99 on Amazon just because I really liked his song "Hard 2 Love" and "Without a Women." I liked a few other of his songs from previous albums. I was sooooooo happy to find I love all the songs on it. Hes been on repeat.

Hunter Hayes- Storm Warning

This was another Cd I got for 2.99. I wasn't completely sold on Hunter...but liked Storm Warning and Wanted! Love this cd too. Love songs, break up songs, lonely songs...hes got them all! I can't believe hes only 21 and so talented!

Rant and Rave: Direct TV
If you're a friend on FB, you have already heard my Directv Drama. Here is the rant: I came home from vacay on Sunday to find my box would not start up. Panic set in. After 1.5 days of awfulness, the man came and gave me a new box but lost ALL MY SHOWS. How dare they. Rave: The GOOD thing about this is I got On Demand (how did I live without this??) and Pandora! Wahoo!!

Rave: Matching with Friends (app)

Okay, call me a nerd, but I'm addicted to this Matching with friends game. Now, I didn't say I was GOOD...but I really like playing it! If ya wanna play, start a game with me! Jbomgaars

Rave: Marie Force's book series: McCarthys of Gassett island
I have always loved reading, but usually only have time during the summers to read. I have read like 7 books already this summer and started reading this series a few weeks ago, I'm only on book 2, but its really good romance series. I love love stories and all the drama and heartache that goes with it! If your looking for good love story...with some light romance (if you know what I mean) mixed in, check these out!!

I finally got around to framing Jake's blessing verse that I say to him every night. I love this verse and fits his personality perfectly. (don't mind the shadow of me in the reflection!)

Did anyone see...

the Bethenny show yesterday? She had thee best hair makeover that I had to share.

First of all, Kim Vo was the hairstylist and said that 98% of LA women have extensions- crazy right??
I guess I would too if 1. I could afford the upkeep 2. Drive to Beverly Hills every 4-6 weeks to have Kim Vo put them in and 3. Could afford the upkeep (i know this was my #1 but it's true)

Anyway- this lady was 39 years old and had, what she called, a mushroom haircut. She had said her hair was thick and corse.

Holy cow, right????? I was shocked. She looks great. Now, whether or not she can keep it
Up I'm not sure...but she looks great and you can totally tell her attitude changed. She was def. more confident.

Isn't it amazing how a hair cut, new outfit, or something as simple as mani/pedi can change how you feel?!

I honestly think that these little things are important for is women to do!

For me, sometimes I "treat" myself or reward myself with food. Then i feel blah and guilty and the vicious cycle continues.

So, non-food related...I indulged myself with a Mary Kay anti aging set. Every time I put on that stuff I feel good. I'm not sure if it's working, but I like to think it does!!!

So I'm asking, what have you done for yourself lately?

Saturday Morning Coffee Dates

I've been totally slacking on my Saturday morning updates....but I've been having to leave work early the past couple of weeks, and wont' be working the next few weeks! AH.

One word describes it: BUSY!

Crazy busy to be exact.

With baby showers, wedding showers, vacations..sigh. Life is rough ;)

The diet:

What diet?  :-o

Yep. I've been thoroughly enjoying my summer. Maybe a little too much (according to my scale!)

I've ate at Chick-Fil-A more times in the past few weeks then I have in my whole life, but OH is it delicious! Its actually Jakes fault. You see, I tell him if hes a good boy during our outings, I"ll reward him with Chick-fil-a. lol He DOES like those nuggets..but I think its more of a reward for me!

I've still be working out every week (atleast 2-3x), but I'm pretty sure I've used this line more than I should have:  "Its okay, I worked out today."

Fail. Oh well, back on the horse! Yehaww!

Jake:

He  loves playgrounds now. Hes climbing everywhere and going down the slide!

We had a play date with Gavin on Thursday!! We went to the LBTC and let the boys play in the water! They had fun together! They both LOVED the arcade and racing cars!

Rants & Raves:

1. Rave: Bachelorette: Okay- Who do you guys want to win? I wasn't totally thrilled on Emily bc she seems too perfect and kinda fake at some points, but she is definitely growing on me.
I'm sorry, but I think Arie is boring. My favorites are Jef and Sean. Jef and her seem so happy and cute together, but her and Sean seem to mesh really well, too! AAHH. What are your thoughts?

2. Rave: BIG BROTHER- starts this coming week. Seriously people, record it. Yea its kinda trashy and drama filled- but who doesn't love that???

3. Rave: Demi Lovoto station on Pandora. I wasn't a HUGE fan of hers, but I saw her on Good Morning America and like her song "Give you heart a break." The station gives a good mix of girl pop- old and new!

4. Rave: Dallas- OMG I'm so glad I taped this show. I never watched the original, but am LOVING this show. Family drama...hot guys....cowboys...love....enough said, right? I don't have enough time to go through the story line, but its a definite must-watch! TNT on Wednesdays!!

Well I'm out of time....headed to a bridal shower for my baby cousin- Arianna!

One thing that good about Jake waking up super early when going to bed super late the night before....
1. He's cuddly
2. He will sit, be silly, and take pictures with his dear, old mom



It's hard to take pictures with or of Jake Bc he usually won't look at the camera, so when he does...I take advantage!!
