Running Mommy Moment

I had my first "oh my gosh, I'm a mom and I really just did that" moment today while running.

I usually don't take Jake running with me because:
1. Its a pain in the butt to push him around when running in the jogger
2. I go faster without him
3. This is the time where I can girl talk with Kristin and listen to music.
On occasion I take him along. Today was one of those days. I loaded up the jogger, and off to Kristin's (aka person trainer teehee) house.

We start our run and about 1.2 miles in, I see Jake's nose and not a pretty picture. Two slimy, boogers are running down almost in his mouth YUCK! With no tissue in sight, I take my fingers, pinch the boogers...and put it on the side of my shirt. Yes, with no hesitation, I cleaned his nasty nose and put the nasty on MY shirt.

Before motherhood, I would have probably even talked crap on how disgusting that was. Look at me now.

Gotta do what ya gotta do, right? Its a workout tank anyway. SO we keep running and had to stop many times to wipe his nose.

sidebar: Jake is not sick, hes got MoRe teeth coming in!

As we are getting closer to 4 miles, Jake throws out this shovel (I called it a pitch fork but whatever) from out of his jogger. I put it back in and closed the little door, and continued. Out goes that pitch fork again. Okay Jake, one more time then we are done!

Pitch fork.

So now what?

Yep. I continued my run running down the street with that pitch fork in one hand, Iphone in the other.

So picture this...Me, a sweaty, hot mess...with a shirt full of snot..running down the street with a yellow shovel-pitch fork in my hand.

That, my friends, is the glamorous life of a mother trying to get her workout on with a kiddo. glam-or-ous!

Here is some pictures to prove.

Thankfully I would do ANYTHING for my Jaker. :)

Snot, poop, dirt...bring it. I dare ya!

Stagecoach & More Galore!

Stagecoach. was. amazing.

Country music 24-7 (literally).
Flip Cup.
Early morning bike rides.
Margarita and jello shots.
Friends.

loved it.

I compiled some HILARIOUS quotes that  that I heard just by passing by random people...but I decided they MAY have been more funny hearing them while a little tipsy. :-x
I don't think you will fully appreciate them, so I won't share.

I DID, however, snap a few iphone pics to go over with you of DO's and DON'Ts of stagecoach.

Do: Take cute pictures with your friends :)

Don't: Wear high high waisted short with a bathing suit top, makes for some saggy looking boobs. But, if you DO wear high waisted shorts, PUH-LEASE  make sure the shorts fit correctly. My goodness. (left- good lord. right- okay.)

Do: Take pretty pictures of the sunset and ferris wheel.

Don't: Wear short shorts like this when you are a male. No matter how good your body looks..its just NOT OK!

Do: Take funny pictures of the hundreds of stripper poles people brought. Don't go on them though (no matter how drunk you are!!!)

Don't: Dress like this guy. Its a country concert. Seriously.
I was REALLY impressed with Blake Shelton's show. He is hilarious and sounded great! Jason Aldean, of course, sounded great and so did Luke Bryan! Miranda and Sara Evans was just OK.

ANYWAY!!! Lets move on.

The Diet
What diet? That's pretty much how it felt during stagecoach, and the week after. I've been eating like I wouldn't gain a pound, which we know is not true! I only ran 1x this week. Fail fail fail. Needless to say, I didn't weigh this week!

Don't worry, I'm gonna whip myself back into shape for this week! I'd like to lose 2-4 more pounds before my sister's wedding, June 2nd. Tangible goal, yes?

Jake
Jake fell down the stairs yesterday. From all the way on the top. Yes. MAJOR fail. He LOVES going down the stairs on his belly, and I usually stand behind him walking down backwards when he does this. The little stinker went too fast before I was behind him and roll, roll, roll, hit. It was thee SCARIEST mommy moment ever! He cried. I cried. It was a cry-fest. THANK YOU JESUS he is okay! I checked his whole body for bruises or breaks. Luckily I found none!

I haven't let him go down the stairs by himself yet or ever.

Above is a picture of him in his infant car seat. lol I love his expression of "Why am I in this, mom?

AUNTIE MODE:
My friend, Val, had her baby boy!!! Luke Todd Hartman! He sure is a cutie!
My friend, Chelsey, is revealing the sex of her twins on Sunday! I CANNOT WAIT to find out!

Rants and Raves

Rave: Brantley Gilbert- You may know him from "Country must be country wide." I'm really likin' his music on Pandora. I'm not sure If I'm SOLD on him yet..but I'm getting there. I REALLY like his name, though. Brantley or just Brant. Cute. Too bad my kiddos will have J names! Hes also not too bad on the eyes (although he likes wearing hats, which is not so cute on him)

Rant: Wrinkles. Unfortunately I'm not talking about those cute little wrinkles above! I have them on my face and they are starting to get worse. No BUENO! I'm getting OLD! What eye creams do you guys use?? I need suggestions!! Leave me a comment and let me know what I should use!

Rave: Tumblr. I have one now. Its like a mix of pintrest and blogging. kinda fun. It allows me to indulge in my wannabe-country-girl side. Like I've said before, I swear I was born in the wrong state! If you have one- follow me! http://madeforthecountry.tumblr.com/

Have a great weekend!!!!!!

You know you're on a diet when strawberries with Splenda and cool whip free on top sounds like a BOMB dessert. :-/

Seriously though.

I could go on and on with this topic, but I'm too busy getting ready for STAGECOACH! Yeeeeehaw.

Did you know that points don't count on on vacation?!?!? I'm so close!!

I'm glad bc look at those brownies my sister-in-law made for our trip! Yummmmmm!

Happy Friday....I mean Wednesday (but it's MY Friday..be jealous). :)

Saturday Morning Coffee Dates

Why hello there!!!

I've got lots to talk about! You ready? I've got my regular starbucks drink in hand! (Skinny peppermint mocha)

The Diet

I'm down .5lbs again. Kinda bittersweet. To my ears it doesn't sound like jack crap much, but I know every little bit counts!

The sad news is...I'm not going to reach my goal of 10lbs by 10 weeks. I'm going to miss my goal by 2.5lbs!! In my defense, Its really 9.5 weeks, not the full 10, since we are leaving early for stagecoach.

I guess 7.5 in 10 weeks is pretty darn good.. PLUS I'm only .5 away from my original goal of when I started weight watchers in July..PLUS I met my goal of running 3.5 miles!

I guess I don't have much to complain about! :)

***(Update!!!) I just re-read some of my posts...and my original goal was 10 lbs in 8 WEEKS!!! Now I don't feel so depressed that I didn't reach my goal! lol

Stagecoach:
Um..this time next week, I'm pretty sure I'll be sweating already (its going to be SUPER HOT in Indio), eating breakfast, and already rocking out to some good ole country music! YEEHAW!

Don't worry, I'll post pictures from my trip to keep you all updated! :D

Jake
Its been a rough week for my bubbalo. Even sick, he still had a smile on his face :)

He started getting a temp. last Sunday afternoon, then a rash quickly followed. He had a temp up until Thursday afternoon, then it was gone! I ended up taking him to the Dr. and he said he had the roseola virus. Nothing they could do for him. Thankfully hes not contagious and on Friday he acting normal again! Plus, his appetite is back! Thank GOODNESS! I was getting worried when he was only wanted drinks for lunch! hmph!

I'm glad hes better. I hate to see him not feeling good!

Here is a pic of him on Thursday, still not feeling good, but LOVED "playing" the piano at Grandma's house!

Here is a little video I took of him eating a popsicle. Watch his tongue after each lick! What a cutie pie!

 Rants and Raves

Rave: Hello Luke Bryan and WHY did I wait so long to get this cd?? It is amazing people. I described it to my brother that this CD is SLIGHTLY below Jason Aldean, which if you know my love for Jason, You'll know its a GOOD CD! I wanted to get it before Stagecoach, so I can learn all the songs and sing along. I was soooooo excited when I loved all the songs on it! I even RAN to it (even though there are a lot of slower songs). Definitely go buy it! Like now. Go! You won't be disappointed!

Rave: I love my starbucks mug. I tried to be cheap thrifty and buy a travel mug for TJ MAXX and my coffee was cold in about 20 minutes. FAIL! So, I forked over the 20 bucks and bought this mug, and another one (could be my new addicton, these mugs!) My coffee stays hot ALL MORNING! love, I tell you. Plus, if you bring your own mug in, you get .10 cents off a drink! Every penny counts. Moral of the story: You get what you pay for!

Rave: My matchmaking skills. Enough said ;) (read here if you need a recap)

Rave:  Auvio Iphone docking station. I have had this product for a while, but I love it so much! It fits my Iphone perfectly, plus it comes with a free app where you can play the radio from it! I wanted this for my kitchen, and I litterally listen to it whenever I'm in the kitchen. Plus, it charges the phone too!

Rant: My legs. (No I'm NOT going to post a picture of those bad boys). I bruise SO easily. Like, if I walked past a table and nicked my leg, a bruise would come instantly. Yesterday, I stupidly clumsily slipped down the ramp to my classroom, and BAM...2 new bruises. This is not good for my stagecoach legs, or summertime-wearing-shorts- legs. BLAH.

That's all for today!!! Happy Saturday and thanks for reading!

Scripture & A Snapshot

Genesis 9:12-16
God continued, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and everything living around you and everyone living after you. I'm putting my rainbow in the clouds, a sign of the covenant between me and the Earth. From now on, when I form a cloud over the Earth and the rainbow appears in the cloud, I'll remember my covenant between me and you and everything living, that never again will floodwaters destroy all life. When the rainbow appears in the cloud, I'll see it and remember the eternal covenant between God and everything living, every last living creature on Earth."

Saturday Morning Coffee Dates

Happy Saturday!!

Actually, I'm kinda bitter that today is Saturday, because that means my spring break is coming to an end. Boo, boo, boo!

I've had SUCH a fun break with Jake! We've been busy, out and about this break!

Okay, lets start our talk! I'm sipping on my skinny peppermint mocha and listening to Jason Aldean station pandora!

The Diet
I'm only down .5lbs this week. I was really frustrated that its not more, since I've been running a lot! I know, I know...I'm building muscle, but sometimes that sounds like such a cop-out. I guess this week its not because I have not cheated ONCE (okay, I guess I did..I had 1 slice of break while @ Johnny Carinos).

I guess I'm okay with .5lbs because I know that I wont lose a lot each week..but stagecoach is quickly approaching and I've got a goal to hit!

So, I have 1lbs to go before I hit my original goal (when I started my diet), and 3lbs to hit my stagecoach goal....and I've only got 2 weeks! AHHHHHH

I don't think I'm going to make it :-x We will see

On a happier note....on Thursday Kristin and I ran 3.5 miles! (which, on Tuesday I ran 3.3). Slowly building it up. Of course, this time I really did feel like I was going to die. Oh well, good and bad days!

I found this blog from pintrest and love this girl! She blogs about life, running and weight loss! An inspiration, for sure! After having kiddo(s) is tough to get the weight off, but she has and is doing it. I really like her blog!

This quote is fitting for today, since I'm trying not to get discouraged. I need to stop worrying about what others think, what they do better than me...and just use what I've got. Only focus on being a better me.

"I don't worry about what I'm not, I use what I've got."
-Jason Aldean

(I love it even more since  its from Jason...:sigh: :swoon:)

Speaking of Jason, STAGECOACH!!!!!! GAH! I cannot wait to go! Last year, we had Jake along (5 months old) which was a fun-but-lets-not-do-that-again type of experience. He slept through the night fine...but It will just be more fun without him, knowing hes having fun with grandma and grandpa!

Besides being super teenybopperish obsessed excited to see Jason Aldean again, I'm REALLY excited to see these peeps:

I've liked Miranda since she was on Nashville Star! So so so excited for stagecoach!

Mr. Jake Jake

Gosh, he has been a dream little boy this week! He has woken up everyday with a smile when I open his door. Melts. My. Heart.

His newest trick is spinning around in circles. He gets SO silly and giggles.

He LOVES having me read him books. Hes takes every book out of his book box. I love this time too because he hits on my laps and snuggles as I read. Even though I never get through a full book without him losing interest, its been my favorite this past week. His fav book has been The Very Hungry Caterpillar. He loves putting his little fingers in the holes!

He was SO good when we went shopping (for baby Luke and Mommy to be!) and out to lunch with Auntie C and Auntie Val (and Brookie!)

I could go on and on, but I'll stop! :) I'm gonna miss spending every.single.day with him, but as Joel reminded me, In a few months ill have 3 whole months off with him! Yipeee!! The perks of being a teacher!

Rants & Raves
1. Rave: Betty White's new show is HIL-AR-IOUS! No joke. I was literally LOLing as I watched. Definitely a must watch!

2. Rave: If you know me, you know I'm such a sucker for reality tv. As I watched CMT's Texas Women and Southern Nights, I saw an advertisement for a new show following these people:

You may remember her from the Bachelorette and Dancing with the stars! Wahoo! I'm excited to watch. I really liked Melissa! I'll let ya know how it is. It comes on next weekend after Jenny Garth's new show! Way to go CMT for keeping me entertained!

3. Rave: Kenra hairspray is bomb.com (really, who says that anymore? That is sooo 2004) ANYWAY, its become my favorite hairspray! I first found it from Its the Small Things blog. I used to use Shaper and thought it was amazing until I used Kenra. It holds super well, and smells good too!!

4. Rave: Holy cow. I saw the Hunger Games yesterday and let me just say that it was Ah-Mazing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading books then seeing them come to life on screen. It was everything I hoped for and wanted it to be! Have you read the books? Seen the movie? What did you think? Could you imagine if stuff like this went on in real life? Disturbing. Go see the movie!!!

5. Rant: Revenge (another one of my addicting tv shows) was a re-cap episode. I was SO excited for it, then totally bummed it wasn't "new." boo boo boo. If you DON'T watch it, you are totally missing out. Seriously. To watch the re-cap on ABC.com and catch up! You won't be disappointed.

That's all for now!!! Thanks for reading and I'd love to hear from you!!!

Wordless Wednesday (kinda)

Since its raining and I'm missing the sun...

How cute does he look on a hat? If he would just keep it on!
