First weekend away! (and more!)

SCHOOLS OUT FOR THE SUMMER (Think of me singing it in an Alice cooper voice!) WAHOOOO!

This past weekend was my FIRST 3 days away from Jake. We both survived! He got to spend the weekend with Joels parents, and sounded like they had A LOT of fun :) Here is a pic of Jake's firs time in Grandma and Grandpa's jacuzzi:

As you can tell, he loved it! I can't wait to get him in a pool! Maybe this week!! :)

I had a great time with the Hubs, Jace, Sasha, Holly and Jeff in Havasu. The weather was PERFECT, the drinks were cold, and the company was great! I got a nice tan too! Wasn't TOO thrilled about being in a bathing suit, but THANK GOD for tankinis ;) (no one wants to see my freddy krueger stretch marks...yes they are STILL there)
I have yet to take Jake's 6th month pictures (Bad mom alert), but I figure since I waited so long, I'll have to just be late with his 7 month pics! Whoops

So far Jake has LOVED every new food we have tried. So far he has had:
  • Apples
  • Pears
  • Green Beans
  • Peas
  • Sweet Potato
  • Carrots
  • Ice cream (just a bite!)
Lets see..what else? I'm trying to start a diet today (story of my life), which I already set myself up for failure because I KNOW I'll cheat on 4th of July. I cannot resist homemade ice cream. (see how little will power I have.) Blah but YUM at the same time!! :)) <--double chin happy face ha!

umm omg. PINTREST. I have an addicting with the website. At first I was cool, yeah yeah whatever..but now..I find myself going crazy on that site!! Check it out if you haven't already and FIND Me!

I'll leave you with a pic from fathers day of, of the original weisenburger 5 picture :) I love my family!!!

6th Grade Class from...you know where..

The cartoon above explains it all. I guess I should have wore my protective gear this past Thursday. Let me explain:

(This might be long, so if you don't wanna read it all here is a summary : Six graders, with 2 weeks left of school, at a school I hate...are little PUNKS!)

I love subbing middle school. You can be sassy and funny and they understand it all. I especially like 6th graders, because they are still little and have the least attitude.

Against my better knowledge, I took a job assignment at this middle school I HATE. I subbed their a few times and EVERY SINGLE TIME Ive had a bad experience. Well, since the end of the year is approaching, I decided to take this job, especially since I had been requested for it. Let me remind you that I wasn't familiar with the administration or how they handle behavior (Referral, detention, ect.)I found out that the assignment is for 6th grade English. PERFECT. I love English...and I love 6th grade.

p.s. My little recap makes it sound not so bad, but trust me my friends, it was BAD!

Period 1: When the kids walk in and are loud and asking you questions ALREADY, you know its not a good start.

I take roll and things are starting off o.k. I give my little speech saying they can talk quietly only if they are doing their work. I give them 3 warnings, (it turns out to be WAY more than 3..I try and give them the benefit of the doubt) after 3, its got to be DEAD silent for the rest of the period. After that, I start writing their names down for their teachers (Which most kids hate!)

In the first 15 minutes they have already had 2 warning. Papers were flying, kids were out of their seats, two boys were pushing each other. I heard: "Mrs. B, hes poking me" or "Mrs. B, I don't have a pencil"

THANK GOD Period 1 would be over in 5 minutes. I can make it with 5 minutes.

FAIL. 1st and 2nd period is combined, so I'm stuck with the SAME kids!

Period 2: So they are supposed to continue to work. Their last warning was up so It had to be SILENT and those who talked got their names written down. They don't quiet down so I said "Who wants to be first on the list?!" and a smartass kid raises his hand. He was first on my list. 5 more followed. I asked a girl her name, and guess what her response was " I don't remember my name." REALLY?! GAHHH. I asked one kid if he wanted to go to the principal office to talk since he wouldn't stop and he said "I've been there MILLIONS of times." great.
I survived periods 1 and 2 and PRAYED that period 3 and 4 would be MUCH better. They had to be, right? How could it get any worse?

Wrong. Those poor kids didn't know what I Just went through so I was already in a bad mood when they came in.

Period 3: "Hi Miss teacher BUMGAURAS." (blank stare from me) hi.
As I was trying to take roll, kids were laughing and talking. I had to stop and wait until they quieted down. Not a good start. I gave them the same speech I give the others and explained the assignment and told them to get going. Pencils were being thrown. One kid ripped another kids paper in half. One boy took another boy's backpack and wouldn't give it back, so they were tug of war-ing with it. Their 3 warnings were up and I started writing names down. The FIRST I wrote down, the kid saw it and said
Kid: "Come on. URGH I've had enough I'm outta here." and packs up his stuff and walks to the door.
Me: "Where are you going?"
Kid No response.
Me: Do you want me to call the office to let them know you're on your way?
Kid: "Let me thinking about it." (1 minute later ) No, I think I'll stay
Me: "Then sit down and get to work!"

The kid sits down and doesn't get anything out. I asked him again to take out his worksheet. He said "I don't work when I'm in trouble." :-/

Meanwhile, the other kids are talking, throwing stuff around.I honestly wanted to ball my eyes out cry. I texted the office manager ( I know her personally) and asked what I should do and if I send a kid up to the office, where I should send him, and that I was SERIOUSLY considering leaving. Next thing I know, the Vice Principal is at the door. He walks in and EVERYONE is quiet.

VP: Who is giving you problems??
Me (In a kinda scared voice, I gave him the problem kids name and he took him away. Then gave them a stern talking. I could tell the kids were scared.)

Once he left, there was 10 minutes left in the period. The kids were so quiet, you could of heard a cricket. Once the bell rang, the kids left and it was lunch. I went to the office manager all shook up and upset. I kind of felt EMBARRASSED about the whole situation because I've NEVER had an experience like this before, and I can hold my own! Turns out, this kid has been in the office MANY times for problems, which made me feel a little better.

BLAH. I'm sure all my other substitute friends feel my pain. Like I said before, me venting it out is not even HALF as bad as it was in REAL life! Who know 6th graders could be SUCH PUNKS. seriously.

Needless to say, I am never returned to that school, at least not this year.

6.six.onetwothreefourfiveSIX.

I am a mother of a six month old child. Half birthday. Six months. He's HALF way to being 1! Where has the freaking time gone?!!

I haven't taken his six month pictures yet...but when I do, you know you will see them ;)

We went to the doctor for his 6 month check up...and hes moving right along! He is now 15.8lbs and 26.5inch long! We go the go ahead to start food, which I was really excited about. Jake hasn't been too thrilled with rice cereal, or oatmeal, so I was a little worried on how he was going to like the good stuff.

I decided to start with veggies, hearing that if you start with sweet fruits, they won't like veggies (even though my pediatrician said that's not true). I picked carrots. He.Loved.Them! WOO! I'll stick with those for a few days, then maybe do a fruit.

Ohh..and Jake is 2 teeth..and the doc said his upper gum is swollen...so more to come! aye yi yi. My baby is growing up so fast!

Here are some pics for you to enjoy ;)
p.s. His baptism was so great...he did great with the water and was content and too cute for all the congregation to see! I'll post pics when I get some :)

ANOTHER exciting event is happening this weekend...Jake is getting BAPTIZED! We are so excited to present Jake to God and promise to raise him in the faith, along with our church family!!! After the service, we are having a little luncheon at our house in our NEW backyard (which the hubby has been slaving working away at for the past two+ months- Pics to come)

Anyway, enjoy! He is getting so big so fast!!

Hi Ya'll!!

I know, this poor blog of mine has been neglected. I would love to say I'm SO SO SO busy and can't update, but really...I'm just lazy unmotivated. Of course I love sharing Jake with everyone, which is why I'm posting today!!

Jake has started being such a wiggle worm when feeding him and holding him. My grandma said , "Hold him now because he won't want to be held like this for very much longer." I almost cried.Hes getting big TOO fast. Slow down, Jake!!!!!

Here are some fun videos of Jake giggling and eating rice cereal.
