On Friday, my baby turned 2! I tried to document the day via my iPhone. Enjoy the pics!
Pics of his Construction Birthday Party to come!!
The day started out with a trip to the donut shop! Jake got to pick the one he wanted!
We went home and had a "carpet party" (where you eat on a blanket in the living room so the hardwood floors I JUST cleaned in the kitchen doesn't get dirty before the party!)
We then went to visit Grandma And Grandpa!
I got my nails done while Jake went out with Grandma!
Next, we picked up some Chick fila for lunch! Another carpet party!
While Jake napped, Joel and I got a few things done for his birthday the next day:
Our last stop for the day was to The Rainforest cafe! Being rookies, we didn't ask for a table by any animals..so that was kinda a fail..but Jake still liked it and loved when a thunderstorm came!
I cannot believe my baby is 2! It's been such a blast watching him grow! He's the sweetest little guy!!
I'm a huge Lee Brice fan. His music has definitely been overlooked besides the singles hes put out on the radio. Hes got some really good songs!!! His new single and video "I Drive Your Truck" just debuted on CMT.
I tear up every time I listen to it. It's about a man losing his brother in the army. Such a good song! Take a listen, I think you'll like it too!
As I am sitting here watching a hallmark movie, looking at old Jake update blogs all while he is sleeping it reminded me of how much I want to read these someday when Baby #2 is sleeping!
I had always told myself I want to do everything I did with Jake in the belly for the future kiddos. I know I won't do EVERYTHING, but I want to try. So..on with the updates of Baby J#2!! How far along? 15 weeks exactly
Total weight gain/loss: According to my last Dr. appointment, I haven't gained anything. I even lost a pound a couple weeks ago. However, I haven't been to the Dr.'s in 3 weeks.. How big is baby? 4 beautiful inches long :)
Maternity clothes? I'm still squeezing into most of my normal clothes..but its getting rough! I've got lots of "new" maternity clothes from my friends who just had babies! I think it will be soon that I will be in all maternity clothes.
Sleep: Great!! Best moment this week: Finally telling my co-workers I was pregnant. I'm glad they just don't think I've been gaining weight!
Movement: Not yet!
Food cravings: pancakes.
Gender: We will know in LESS than 2 weeks!! I'm thinking another boy! We will see!
Labor Signs: Nada
Belly Button in or out? In
Stretchmarks? Old ones from Jaker..no new ones- but ya know what, If I get them again, so what? I'm over it!
How are you feeling? I'm feeling MUCH better since I've hit the 2nd trimester-hardly feel nauseous at all! I'm still tried and my back hurts often. What I am looking forward to: Jakes 2nd birthday next week!!!!
What I miss: nothing
Weekly Wisdom: "Worry less, Pray more."
Milestones: Feeling less "chubby" and more pregnant..but still chubby. lol
Ha- gotcha! (Or tried Atleast!!) No, we don't know what Baby J is yet (but I only 3 weeks till we know Yayyy!)
We got a dog-a 10 week old puppies to exact!
Joel And I have both grown up with dogs, so we knew we wanted Jake to have one as well (although who is outside in the garage with it now at the butt crack of dawn????
Me. Well. Joel was out here earlier and, being a good wife all cozy in bed decided we should do shifts.
We were looking online for a few weeks but didnt want to jump into anything too fast. We saw this Lab/Aussie Sheep dog mix and knew we wanted one!
We ended up picking up Jett yesterday. We knew he was "the one" because right when we walked in Jett followed Jake around and was super sweet toward him!
I was dreading the first night and nights to follow, but he did really good!! We went to bed at Arlie's 1130, and he was crying non-stop in this little crate we borrowed. We ended up taking him out and letting him just sleep on his blanket in the garage. We are getting an extra large metal crate today.
Anyway- once we let him out, he would whine a bit then go back to sleep. We didn't actually get up with him until 530. Yay! I know the whining will eventually stop so there is light at the end of The tunnel.
Yeah yeah, I'm well aware its NOT even Thanksgiving yet..but seeing as I haven't updated in forever, who knows when my next post will be.
I was already listening to Christmas music on the radio and was reminded I need to put some of my all-time-favorite Christmas songs on my iphone.
We all know I'm borderline obsessed with music, so I thought I'd share some of my favs from back when. (I totally would have put The Carpenters Christmas on my list, but I thought I'd stick with the teen-booper theme!)
Don't judge :)
1. Hanson- What Christmas Means
**NERD ALERT** In middle school, I was IN LOVE with Hanson. I had all their cds. My room was FILLED with their posters. My mom won tickets on KIIS Fm to see Hanson, Aqua girl, Chumba Wumba and Savage Garden. LOVE. Anyway, I like this song..and like the way they do it!
Remember what I said about not judging, right??
2. Nsync- Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays
This.song.is.a.classic. Enough said :)
3. Christina Aguilera- Oh Holy Night
I LOVE this whole Christmas Cd. There is no doubt that she has got some vocals!
4. Jessica & Nick- Baby Its Cold Outside
Love it..love the duet...love the song.
5.She Daisy- That's What I want for Christmas
Remember them??? I liked them a lot. I loved this song and their harmonies. I could only find them singing it live, but the recorded version is really good! (They start singing around .37)
Now go download theses songs and think of me when you play them over and over ;) lol
Where the HECK did October go?? I'm not going to say I've missed it because I can't wait to get to Thanksgiving, Jakes birthday, my birthday, then Christmas! I just can't believe how quickly this fall season is going!
We did our annual pumpkin patch trip (along with EVERYONE else and their mothers)
It's always fun to kiddos running around excited to pick out pumpkins and go on the rides. Its also fun to see what parents are willing to do to get their kid to smile for a picture (I am SO GUITY OF this. If you would have seen me, I would have been embarrassed.) Oh well..thats the wonderful world of parenting!!
Here are some pictures from the patch!
What a difference a year makes, right??
Jake NOT a fan of the pony ride. Maybe next year!
Halloween was WAY more fun with Jake than last year, I mean, he was adorable last night but pretty much just sat. This year he was running up and down, asking for candy, being a silly monkey (literally).
We always go to our church and pass out candy for "Truck or Treat." Its a great way to bless the community and its way more safe in our hood then going door to door!
Loved this costume his year. Fit him perfectly!
Here is Jake and his cousin Evan
While Jake and I were at the mall yesterday on a little playdate, we went to the pet store, JUST to browse. We have been thinking of getting a dog, then found out I was pregnant and kinda changed our minds...but are still dipping our feet in the idea. Hubby says it will give him and Jake something to do when the new baby comes!
Anyway, I always liked cocker spaniels since my Aunt has had them forever. When we first got married, the CUTEST King Charles Caviler lived down the street..but I want a huge fan of their buggy eyes. I also like the Springer Spaniels with all their freckles on their noeses! Well..as I was oohing and ahhing over each puppy I came across: a Cockalier.
Um PERFECT. A cocker spaniel and caviler mix!
I found this one online this morning for SALEEEE
HOW CUTE IS THIS DOG??
Who knows. Maybe Jake will get a dog for his birthday next month!
One last thing- Did ya'll watch the CMAS???? I got to watch it Eastern time, thanks to my parents who somehow get all the shows early! Hoooray! I loved every minute of it! I really liked Kelly Clarskon's new song ft. Vince Gill. Ya heard it?? If not, take a listen!! Love it!!!!!
