I came across this quote from my friend, Cindy (olivemepost.com), and thought I'd re-share.
It really hit home to me.
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of – throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.” – C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
We are content with our "house" but know there are some leaks and things that should and needs to be fixed, then when they DO get fixed and things start changing, you wonder what the heck is going on!
We have all theses plans for our lives...but whether or not they line up with GOD'S plan is a different story.
What he's got planned for our lives is WAY better than what we've got planned.
If you're like me, you like to have things planned out and on a schedule. Well, sometimes that's just not how it goes.
I've come across many people posting about "letting go" and "letting God take the wheel," so I know there are TONS of people going through this type of stuff. I think its an everyday struggle...whether you're waiting on something to happen...or just need that comfort of knowing God is in control.
Let him take control!
