So...I've decide I AM going to try out for the Voice on August 30th. I mean, why not. What is there to lose?
I need to have 2 songs ready (to sing A Capella) for the producers. I'm not sure if Ill be singing the WHOLE song, or just 30 seconds? It doesn't say.
Since I like to sing country, I was thinking I would do a country song, then a pop song.
Its SO hard narrowing it down to just 2. I also wondered if I should do a popular song from an artist, or a song that is not so popular.
Below are the videos/songs of my potential choices. SOME of you are lucky enough to have heard me sing some of these songs...but for those of you haven't..what would you chose for me?? Remember the first auditon has to be A Capella- no music. just me.
For country, I was thinking Whitney Duncan, Sugarland, or Sara Evans.
Here is the Whitney Duncan- Skinny Dippin song
Here is Sugarland- Baby Girl
and last Sara Evans- Stronger
Now for a pop song. This is where I'm not sure which way I should go.
I was thinking Sara Barielles, Rhianna or........thats all I've got. Any Suggestions???
Sara Barielles- Love song or Vegas?
Vegas
Rhianna- Take a bow
There you have it. What do YOU think??? Any other songs you would suggest???
please please pleas help a sista out! ;)

Completely amateur assessment since I've not watched the show yet to know what the first appearance carries in the weight of what they are judging you on.... But Sara Evans and Rhianna are the easier songs for vocals.. If you can do the changes in the vocals without music I'd choose the Sugarland song, that would show strength...
Another song I like is The Band Perry, If I die Young...
Anxious to hear how you do in the audition AND then I would watch if you're chosen!!!
Which songs did you pick!? Hope the audition went well!
