I think this is going to be the show I love to hate.
I keep thinking, "Is this family for real??!"
Jake was entertained, too! He kept pointing to the pig and snorting- ha!
I'm watching it while Joel's at work because I can guarantee I would get crap for days about watching "good quality tv" (which he says about teen mom too! Leave me alone!!)
I wonder if Alana is going to watch this when she's older and regret it..
Anyway-
I can't. Stop. Watching and am a little embarrassed to admit that!
Paramount Unified (where I'm a substitute) starts this coming week already!! Gesh! Summer felt SO MUCH longer as a kid!
My Pinterest board is filling up with TONS of pins about beginning of the year and teaching ideas, which of course, I'm repinning because WHEN I do get a job, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have the cutest classroom and ideas EVER! Thankyouverymuch. =)
I already told the hubs that I want him to start taking down the fall dcorations...bring on the brown/orange colors and the pumpkin candles- Fall is a comin'!
So lets get on with it!
The Diet:
HA. Lets talk about this another morning.
I'm hoping that once I start subbing again I'll be able to get back on it.
As far as running goes...I've been TRYING to go, but have sadly only gone 1x this week, and I almost DIED of heat exhuastion. Okay, not almost died..but it was realllllly hot.
Excuses, excuses. I know.
Jake:
This kid serioulsy cracks me up. He is learning something new everyday and I absolutely love it! He is such a talker and an entertainer!
Here is a video of showing us how he can 'wink" now!
Besides winking, he now can give "smooches," which is just a normal kiss, complete with the kissing sound, instead of the doggie-lick-kiss. It is absolutely adorable and I'll have to try and get a video of that, too!
The Journey:
I've been learning so much about God and his faithfulness with my father-in-law being sick. He is on his way to recovering now! (Praise the LORD!) I have such great family and friends who have all rallied and prayed for this sitatuion. Bless beyond belife is all I can say, and we can see that all the prayers and reliance on God has helped!
If you read my post a few weeks ago about worry and trust, youll know that is something I"m tryng to work on, and its soooo hard, people!!! Its so easy to say it, but to acutally DO....it is way different. I find that if I talk about it, or type in this case, I am reminded, "Oh yeah, I did say that..I need to remember to DO it.
Music:
Who has heard Taylor Swifts new single"We will never get back together"?? Thoughts???
I have to say, I own all of Taylors albums and I think she is very talented with her songwriting and I always ocassionally blast her music and sing at the top of my lungs to her songs.
But, her new single. I'm just not sure of it. It always takes me a few listens to like a song, but this new one is taking me longer to absorb. I mean, I do like the "ohhhhhh" part.
Its definitely NOT country and its werid hearing it on a country station, right???
I do like Kip Moore's new song- Beer Money
Very catchy, so check it out!
I'm off to a baby shower for my cousin, Arianna! I'm LOVING all these baby shower for baby girls!!! Pink pink pink!!!
I seriously have thee best kiddo ever. He makes night time routine so easy.
We eat dinner, take a "baaaaa" (bath), play...then when he's tired (or even when I ask) he says, "nigh night" proceeds to grab his blanket and binky and is ready for bed.
Seriously?
Easy peasy.
I've heard horror stories of temper tantrums from not wanting to go to bed.
I was looking back on old posts, and took a trip down memory lane. One post was about my brother getting engaged, then it jumped to my worst day subbing, then Jakes birth, new music I was obsessed with, and my bffs being pregnant. So many memories are here. I came to a post on Sept. 11, 2010. I was 20 something weeks pregnant. So excited about Jake, yet feeling blah about subbing and not having a job. (Which is funny because I'm almost getting to that point again!) I found this quote under my weekly pregnancy updates: “Worry implies that we don’t quite trust that God is big
enough, or powerful enough, or loving enough to take care of what’s happening in
our lives." isnt that the truth? Why haven't I remembered this? Its such a true, inyourface quote. I remember when I was 5 or 6, I had a solo singing at church. My song said "I cast all my cares upon you. I lay all of my burdens down at your feet. And any time I don't know what to do, I will cast all my cares upon you." I deal with worry every second day...whether its about Jake, Joel, a job, future baby #2, family, friends...the list could go on. But who doesn't worry, right? Its human nature. I like reading Matthew 6:25-27 from the message: “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Sounds so easy, right??? Worrying can not add anything to your life but headaches. Easier said then done. Psalms 46:1 (Message) God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. It says right there ^ that he (God) is ready to help!! So why don't we turn to him more often????? If more people, including myself, would put more trust in God our lives would be less stressful. Its just so hard when things happen (or don't happen) and we don't get an instant answer from God as to why it is happening! I guess that's where the trust comes in. I guess what I'm learning, from this very post..is that worry and trust come hand in hand. If you trust more, you will worry less. If you worry, you need more trust. You couldn't read this post without somehow knowing I would connect it to a song, right? Thank you LORD for giving us music..which helps us celebrate, mourn, get over, praise, dance, sing through anything:
And I'll praise You in this storm And I will lift my handsFor You are who You are No matter where I amAnd every tear I've cried You hold in Your hand You never left my side And though my heart is torn I will praise You in this storm
Whatever your "storm" is, big or small. Lets praise him....because he is there for us always and will give us peace.
Everyone knows how much I LOVE music. Obsessed, maybe. I love sharing my passion with friends and Fam so everyone can enjoy it as much as i do. Some people (cough cough my hubby) couldn't care less for new songs, great lyrics or a catchy tune.
That, my friends, is why I have you and my blog!
Ok let's get to the music.
My bff, chelsey, told me about this song, I you-tubed it and i absolutely fell in love! This girl has got pipes and she's very pretty! Love the song, too- so catchy and country!
Since I'm blogging From my phone, I can't put the music on here...just the link.
Please listen and tell me wha you think! I definitely think she is up and coming!
