Bye-bye Binky!

Binky. Paci. Plug. The good ole pacifier. Some kids hate them, my kid LOVES IT!

When he was 1, I started only giving it to him during nap time and at night while he sleeps.

I told myself that when he was 2, I'd get rid of it for good.

Well..he's 2 and I've been dreading it.

Yesterday for his nap time I told Jake that binky went bye bye. He said, "Yeah, binky bye bye." Good! He gets it! In told him to get his blankey and we were going to take a nap. Right away he kept saying binky binkyyyyy.

Heart. Is. Breaking. Poor little guy, but I gotta be strong.

I put him in his crib with his blanket and left.

25 minutes of crying and he fell asleep.

Ok not so bad. Does it get easier or worse as the days go on??

Night time rolls around. Here we go again. I reminded myself that it will be better in the end.

Jake grabs his blankey and asks for binky. I reminded him binky went bye bye. He whined a little as we walked upstairs.

We said prayers and I stuck him in bed.

I was prepared for crying and carrying on...but there was nothing!
I checked the monitor making sure I was not going crazy.

Day 1= mini success

Lets see what today will bring!
