Movin' on up!
The big weekend is finally here...move in weekend! Yay! We have been working on this house constantly for the past few weeks(fyi- when I saw "we" it's more Joel than I...but hey, I helped too!)
Here are some things we have done before the move:
- Scraped all ceilings
- Removed all pre-existing door casings and moldings
- Textured the walls and ceilings
- Undercoated the inside of the house
- Demo-ed the kitchen and extended the soffits to make kitchen bigger
- Cut a opening in wall of the living room/dining room
- Tore down enclosed patio
- Can lights in kitchen, dining room and living room
- New windows
- New interior doors
- New door casings,crown molding & baseboards
- New hardwood floor
- New carpet
- Wainscoting in 1 room
- New closet doors
- Paint
- New stair railing
- new light fixtures
- New bathroom cabinet/sink and medicine cabinet
- Power washed the front of the house (which still needs some help lol)
- Kitchen (cabinets installed on Monday..woo!)
- Flooring in kitchen and dining room (Wed or Thurs)
- Granite (coming to measure on Thurs..installed a few days later)
- Install appliances
Yesterday we were planning on only taking a few things over...and moving most of the stuff today. Well, once the ball hit the ground, we had almost everything moved. Today we need to move a few big things and a handful of little things, then we will be set! It already feels so "homey." It was kind of sad packing up our little rental house. We lived there for almost 3 years, but I know we will make tons of memories in this new house!
I plan on posting before/during/after pics on here soon. Here is a sneak peak of our TV cabinet that we re-vamped!
After: A little white paint, new knobs, and in our living room waiting for the TV!
Check back soon for more updates!!
In less than a week I'll be on spring break for a week, with a new kitchen, ready to organize and clean!
Check back soon for more updates!!

"Child You're Forgiven and Loved"
There is a GREAT new Christian artist named Jimmy Needham that I came across today. He sings a great song called "Forgiven and Loved."
I thought it was interesting how the song progresses. At first he tries to fix his life by himself. It says "I bought the lie" that he could fix his own situation. Then he goes on saying that
Jesus died to fix his situation.
I think the part I like most is when he repeats the phrase "Child you are forgiven and loved." I think we all long to hear that...and God tells us that ALL THE TIME...but do we listen?
Here are some of the lyrics.
"Oh I tried and tried to rectify my hopeless situation
But I bought the lie I still have work to do
Now I’m working nine to five like I can earn my own salvation
But there is no condemnation in You
O He died, He died to rectify my hopeless situation
And His blood commands my guilt to leave
Now on Calvary I stand
Empty pockets, open hands
O there is no condemnation for me
Child, you’re forgiven and loved
Child, you’re forgiven and loved
Child, you’re forgiven
And child, you are loved"
it also helps that he has a GREAT voice and i love his style of music.
Enjoy your Monday!

I get chills....
every time I hear this song. I'm not gonna lie...I've had it on repeat ALL NIGHT!
Its worth a listen, I promise. (The video doesn't have a music video yet..which is why they just put the lyrics)
Let me know what you think!!!
p.s. What is with this wind?? I hope we all don't blow away!
p.s.s. Don't mind yesterdays post. It was one of those let it out, cry a little, scream at the top of your lungs, kind of day. If you were wondering...today is MUCH better. :)

It wouldn't be complete....
without an EMO song to complete my Monday Funk.
Here we go:
"I guess I must be wishing on someone else's star.
It seems like someone else keeps gettin what I'm wishing for.
Why can't I be as lucky as those other people are?
I guess I must be wishing, on someone else's star." Bryan White

Updates!!!
Hi everyone!!!
I haven't updated in a while...I have been SUPER busy!
My job is going great. I really, really love it. It makes my days go by so quickly and the kids make me laugh daily. This is a pic on "Western Day."

We move into our house in 25 days! AHHHH! We have been making so much progress at our house. Part of our hardwood floor was put in yesterday. Our new windows will get installed in 2 weeks. The baseboard and crown moulding is done in our office and our bedroom. Once we finish priming the living room and dining room, we will do crown and baseboard in there, too! I'm going to post pictures soon of the before, during and after. Until then, here is a picture that was taken about 3 weeks ago:
I guess thats all I have to update on now. Have a great week!
