Marriage

Here is a quote from my Young Fellowship Bible Study...which is a young, married/engaged couples group.

"A great marriage isn't something you find, its something you make."

Easier said then done, but I believe with my whole heart that it is the truth.

I am worthy!

Last night in Bible Study, we read a great chapter in our "Facing the Giants" book by Max Lucado.

We studied 1 Samuel 16:13 which talks about God sending Samuel to anoint a new King, when there was already an "unofficial" King in Israel, Saul.

God told Samuel to meet with Jesse and he will tell him more later. When he got Bethleham, he gathered with Jesse and his sons, to make a sacrifice to the Lord. Samuel started looking at Jesse's 7 sons and was deciding which one HE THOUGHT would be right to be the new King. He looks at the oldest one (Eliab) and thought he would be perfect b/c he was tall and handsome. God says no, "
Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

Samuel then calls the other 6 of Jesse's sons who were present, but God did not chose any of them either. Samuel asked Jesse if all of his sons were here...Jesse said Nope (Jesse had 8 sons!), that he still had the youngest son, David, but he was a shephard and was with the field. Samuel told Jesse that he wanted to see David.

Now, In my study book, Max mentions that David was known as the "haqqaton",which means- the youngest son, the last in the bunch, the littlest. He was always the last to be included in family things, in fact, he wasn't even invited to meet with Samuel that day.

As it turns out, God to picked David to be King! Who would have though that this lowly, haqqaton, Shepard would be king!? Why we might ask?? God saw the things that no one else could see. Davids heart. David was the one who truly sought after God.

"In the end, that's all God wanted or needed...wants or needs. Others measure your waist size or wallet. Not God. He examines hearts. When he finds one set on him, he calls it and claims in." Max Lucado pg. 18)

I was seriously amazed last night. Of course I've read this chapter before, but reading it again made me realized that God can use little old me, or little old you!

Look at this:
God used Moses even though he ran from Justice. God used Jonah even though he ran from God. God used Samson, even though he cheated. God used Sarah, even though she ran out of hope.

What are you running from? There is hope, people. God can STILL use you in whatever condition you are in.

Lets all strive to be like David today.

Bittersweet

We’re walking down this old country road
Your tell me things that I already know like
You love me, miss me, but you still gotta go
I look up at this big blue sky and wonder
What would things be like if you stayed
Would you be here? Always? To comfort me
Would we be together or would you still leave?
All I know is that its
Bittersweet
Your arms around me
Bittersweet
Knowing you gotta leave
Bittersweet
Just hold me for this moment in time
You’re all I have
I’ll miss you bad
Bittersweet
This old road, I don’t want it to end
We’re holding hands looking out at the land
All the space- you say you need space.
Mama’s says sometimes people just leave
They need to change get some new scenery
Is that why you’re going? Please stay.
Because its
Bittersweet
Your arms around me
Bittersweet
Knowing you gotta leave
Bittersweet
Just hold me for this moment in time
You’re all I have
I’ll miss you bad
Bittersweet

I know you have to leave
Just one more hour, minute…second…because its

Bittersweet
Your arms around me
Bittersweet
Knowing you gotta leave
Bittersweet
Just hold me for this moment in time
You’re all I have
I’ll miss you bad
Bittersweet

Hope

Lately I've been thinking about things...the world...this life. So often we are living our life full of hope and faith, or at least we strive to. Hope that this world would turn their eyes to Jesus. Hope that our President would make good decisions. Hope that the future generation would grow up to be moral people. Hope that we find our soulmate. Hope that our dreams will come true. Hope.

"Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all." -Dale Carnegie

Without hope & faith, where would we be?

I am thankful that God has hope in me.

Lets keep pressing on, people. :)

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

Sara Lindsay

Ok ya'll. As most of you already know, I am OBSESSED with music. It is my dream, my passion, my love.

I have to share about Sara Lindsay. This girl, I tell ya, is pretty amazing. She writes her own music, plays the guitar and piano (and other
instruments), and has an amazing voice. To me, she sounds like a mix of Sara Barielles and Colbie Caillat.

She has a new CD coming out (TODAY actually!) and she has a preview on her myspace page. You MUST check it out.www.myspace.com/chillvibes Go there, and click on "Excerpts from the new album."

Enjoy!!
